Protesting students at RMWC RMWC Main Hall

PEC Update, April 11, 2008

Dear PEC Supporters:

As many of you know, the hearings in the student contract and charitable trust appeals are scheduled for 9:00 a.m. Monday, April 14 before the Supreme Court of Virginia in Richmond. Note that while the session begins at 9:00 a.m., we do not know if our cases will be heard first or later in the morning session. Counsel has advised us that our appeals will be heard consecutively (one-half hour for each appeal) and likely before noon.

The address of the Court is 100 North Ninth Street and members of the public are welcome (on-street parking is available and there are parking garages on East Main Street and at the James Center that are only a couple of blocks away). No cell phones or other electronic devices are allowed, so if you come, please do not bring these items with you to Court.

Several members of the PEC Board will be attending the hearing. We will let all of you know next week how the hearing goes. Counsel has advised us to expect a ruling by June - we will certainly keep you posted.

Vita Abundantior,

PEC Board

Diane U. Montgomery (R-MWC '85)
Carol Curcio Lang (R-MWC '68)
Anne Yastremski (R-MWC '05)
Madeline Miller (R-MWC '66)
