How to Donate PEC doesn’t want to file lawsuits against our beloved alma mater, but the trustees continue to refuse to listen to the concerns of students and alumnae. For months, PEC and its supporters were hopeful that the trustees would want to preserve R-MWC as a woman’s college. Unfortunately, in town meetings across the country interim President Worden and the trustees continued to make it clear that they had no intention or desire to consider ways to re-vitalize R-MWC. They refused to entertain any conversations with alumnae on this matter or let PEC or other groups present plans to keep R-MWC a woman’s college. Regrettably, PEC must pursue litigation because repeated requests for meetings, mediation, and negotiation continue to be rejected. We need your generous support to fund these lawsuits and support the other work of PEC. To donate, please send your check to:
Preserve Educational Choice, Inc. Please make the check payable to "Preserve Educational Choice, Inc." If you would like your gift designated for the PEC Art Legal Defense Fund, please make a note of that on your check. PayPal donations can also be designated for the Art Legal Defense Fund. Click the button below to donate via PayPal using a credit card or a direct bank transfer. Please note that PayPal charges a transaction fee of close to 3%, so checks are preferred where possible to maximize the resources available for actual legal fees. PEC can also accept gifts of securities. Please contact our Executive Director to learn more. Is my donation tax-deductible? PEC was granted tax-exempt status under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code on January 13, 2007. This means that all contributions to PEC from our founding on September 1, 2006 to the present are fully tax-deductible to the amount allowed by law. As always, please consult your tax advisor in regards to your specific tax obligations. How much money does PEC need to preserve R-MWC? Thanks to our loyal supporters, we are gratified to announce that we achieved our goal to raise $500,000 by June 30, 2007! Your contributions make the difference for us, not only in the courtroom where they fuel the litigation engine, but also to the R-MWC Board of Trustees to which the contributions prove our commitment, determination and our mandate to be heard. Money raised thus far includes donations and pledges from more than 640 individuals from our base of more than 1,000 supporters - that’s a 64% contribution rate - and we are grateful for every dollar that has been donated or pledged. We would like to raise that contribution rate to 100%. If you have not made a contribution, now is the time to make a difference. Let your donation be a sign of your commitment to the preservation of Randolph-Macon Woman’s College as a woman’s college. If you cannot give a large amount in one donation, we have created a simple way for you to spread your donation across several months. Simply fill out the pledge form below and we will send you an email reminder when it’s time to send your next pledged amount. You are free to fulfill your pledge on the schedule of your choice. Please note, though, that the more funds we collect in the short term, the better defense we can mount.
